Post subject:  Friday Evening Drabble - No 4

During Friday evening at the gather, people were divided into small groups and asked to write a drabble including 4 phrases, which had to be in the order given.
apologies if I haven't interpreted the writing correctly!

Matron smirked as she rifled through Miss Annersley's drawers. A diamante-encrusted fuschia teddy - "size 6? I think not!" thought Matron; two sets of coloured contact lenses, one blue, one grey, prescription -7.5. "I didn't think she was as blind as that - although I did wonder when she failed to notice my boob job".

Dangling a lime green suspender belt from her left index finger Matey tutted loudly. "How many times have I told her, hold-ups are far more practical when pregnant". Matron slipped the offending article into the pocket of her crisply-starched uniform and set off along the corridor crackling like a firework.

Unfortunately for her, a band of middles with myriard problems and guilty consciences had decided they were NOT going on a ramble with Mary-Lou this afternoon. Hearing the crackling domestic tyrant descending the stairs they scarpered, forgetting to close the door of Tom's store cupboard behind them. Completely forgetting the trouble that had ensued last time she ventured into the cupboard, Matron went to investigate.

It was a large cupboard, occasionally used to store a sleeping Rosie Greaves, but it's primary purpose was to house the many dolls' houses rejected by their proud owners. It was also home to a number of lime green twinsets. Unnoticed by Matron the door swung shut behind her.

Three hours later, Miss Annersley was dressing for the Fifth Form's Evening. Unable to find her favourite item of clothing she descneded, half-dressed, to her study where she placed a call to Freudesheim. Her good friend Lesley answered.
"Ah, good, it's you. I seem to have misplaced my lime green suspender belt. Can I borrow yours?"
Lesley grinned evilly. "Of course you can", she said. "The question is may you?"
