#1: For Caty - from Santa Author: Secret Santa, Location: The North PolePosted: Sat Dec 02, 2006 8:28 pm (OK, it's not exactly Christmassy except that it's to the tune of “Away in a Manger”!)
One day in the Chalet the Middles were bored:
To get into more trouble they could not afford.
They’d tried various hobbies with little success
And no-one had anything left to suggest.
The prefects were restless: they suspected the worst,
If this state continued then surely they’d burst?
The staff in their wisdom looked down from the height
And decided they needed to banish this plight.
“We’ll give them an evening where they’ll laugh ‘til they cry,”
Miss Wilson declared with a gleam in her eye:
“It won’t be Mrs Jarley and it won’t be a play;
We’ll put on a circus and see what they say!”
Miss Nalder learned to juggle, Miss Stewart to clown,
And Matron’s fire-eating was the talk of the town,
But better than all of them, even Bill’s fleas,
Were the Abbess and Plato on the flying trapeze.
