“Poke, poke, poke.”
“Horrid dent!” Ann rolled over, muttering in her sleep and Zharko sighed. This wasn’t going to be easy. He’d been trying all week to get Ann to start work on one at least of her yet to be written drabbles but whenever he tried poking her, she simply muttered something about tidying her room or, if she were asleep, the dent in the mattress, which she professed was keeping her awake at night. The question was, how was he going to get her to realise just why she was waking up in the middle of the night.
“Bite, bite, bite,” he tried something more severe.
“Ow!” Ann sat up in bed. “Al! Did you just nip me or something?” Al, however, was fast asleep and she got no response so she sighed and lay down again. Zharko wasn’t prepared to give up that easily however ad this time, he decided upon more drastic measures.

He carefully went through all of Ann’s books and, by dint of a little magic, made sure that every page had the following words on it: “Esther, Tom, Bride, Miss Wilson,” to remind Ann of her Esther drabble. And ‘Joey, cousin, Louise, Anne, Gillian, Miss Annersley, St. Scholastika, Tiernsee,” to remind Ann of her other drabble. He then decided a little punishment was in order and over the next few days, Ann would watch Al devouring ‘The Big Over Easy’ and grow increasingly jealous. She couldn’t read any of her own books for they simply reminded her of the drabbles she had yet to do and eventually, drove her to pick up the new Jasper Fforde book when Al was out of the house one day. Unfortunately, before her eyes, the text changed and as with all her other books, Ann was given a severe reminder of her duty. She threw it down in disgust and Zharko chuckled evilly to himself. Now all he had to was get her conscience working and over the next night or two, he whispered in her ear, reminding her of all those devoted CBBers awaiting her new drabbles with eager anticipation.
“B-but I need the computer!” Ann woke up, stammering out loud. “I can’t use the computer when Al’s around because then we won’t see each other and anyway, I’m on holiday and I’ve not finished Odette yet!”
“Exactly!” Zharko decided it was time to reveal himself fully to Ann, who almost fainted in shock. “Oh don’t be such a spineless jellyfish!” he said irritably as he saw her wibble and almost faint. “You say you want to write these drabbles, yet you won’t do them in term time because you’re too busy and now you won’t do them in holiday time because you can’t use the computer? I don’t think you actually want to write these drabbles at all!”
“I do, I do!” Ann protested wildly.
“Prove it!” Zharko challenged her, his eyes gleaming malevolently.
“B-but how? It’s the middle of the night!”
“Exactly! Al is asleep and won’t miss your company! You can do it now! Of course, if you really don’t want to do either then…”
“All right, All right!” Ann grumbled. She rolled out of bed and sat at the computer and as Zharko sat back with a satisfied smile, she began to type…

I really enjoyed the drabble. The plot bunny sounds really annoying!

I will write them, honest! Although I blame Catherine - every time I see her I acquire more bunnies!
