#1: A carol for CatherineS Author: CBB Secret Santa, Posted: Mon Dec 19, 2005 10:28 pm Santa apologises for the dodgy rhymes...
Merry Christmas, CatherineS!
We three Trips of Freudesheim are,
Sharing gifts we got from our Ma,
Island, mountain, Borders (& counting!) –
From school we’re never far.
O, school of wonder, school of note;
Come by train or plane or boat!
England, Tiernsee, Oberland, Guernsey –
Which one would get your vote?
Born in Guernsey, first of the three,
Leadership distinguishes me.
Language-learning, friendship-earning,
List’ning to ev’ry plea:
O, school of wonder…
Literature to offer have I,
Sometimes real life passes me by.
Night-time walking, tactless-talking:
Surely the Booker’s nigh?
O, school of wonder…
Mischief’s mine: the luck of the spin
Left me with original sin.
Life’s exciting, devil-fighting –
I know one day I’ll win.
O, school of wonder…

#8: Author: CatherineS, Location: Smalltown, West of ScotlandPosted: Fri Dec 23, 2005 5:38 am I was just replying to this - rather more lengthily - when ELIJAH aka child-who-will-not-sleep deleted my post! Anyway, I haven't been on the board in a wholesale fashion for a while, so my apologies for not responding before. Thank-you very much. If Santa is going to give me a gift, I may as well find it at half-five on a Friday morning.
Ho ho ho. On a cheerier note, though, which I will be in a couple of hours after my husband has swopped roles with me - thank-you, that was wonderful!
