Hullo everyone, this was my contribution to the bedtime drabbles. Hope you like it....

‘Please, Matron,’ she said, ‘I’m certain there’s some mistake. This isn’t my trunk—can’t be! I haven’t had a teddy since I was a—a small child in Samoa. I don’t even know what became of him. I never saw him after we left. I expect he got left behind or was given to someone.’

The small gold furred bear read this sentence and pushed the book away with a shudder at this dreadful neglect of some poor anonymous teddy bear. How could his owner read books that contained such horrors?
And speaking of his owner, where was she? This was the first day in ages that she hadn't been 'working' (whatever that was! He just knew that it meant she went away and left him alone all day, and then came home grumpy and tired...) and he'd been expecting her to stay under the duvet, but instead she'd insisted on getting up. It just wasn't on!!
While he was sulking, he became aware of a rather nice smell drifting in from the kitchen. His nose twitched. He knew that smell. It was cookies baking. (not as good as hunny, but still rather nice...)
Hmmm, he thought, cookies could only mean one thing. It was time for another one of those Gather thingies.
Clambering off the bed he used the piles of books to make a sort of staircase so he could reach the computer to turn it on. Once it had booted up he logged on to the CBB (he'd joined up on his own account after the first Gather, it paid to keep tabs on these things...) and opened the Gathering forum. Running a sticky paw down the screen he found the thread that said who was coming and eagerly scanned the attendees.
Oh good! Chelsea was coming, maybe she'd bring his pal Pogo. And Pim would be there, which should mean Teddy Robinson would be too. It was nice when other bears were there. Oooh! And Rosie was coming. Maybe he could play in the Norty cupboard with her again. It had been jolly good fun before (he thought there was a photo somewhere...)
He was musing happily on this thought when his paw came to a name that made him stop dead in terror!
Carolyn was coming!!!
He leapt off the bed and began rummaging frantically until he found his parachute. He still had nightmares about being dropped out of that window...
Finding his bag he began to pack his belongings. Parachute, change of clothes in case of rain, hunny sarnies for the journey, his teddy bear, Bob, scarf in case it was chilly in the evening and a poking stick just in case.
There, he was ready. The Gather could happen as soon as it liked now!!

Thank you, Honeycomb.

Hope you didn't need the parachute on the Cow & Calf rocks. They looked a little scary!
