Post subject:  Rosalie or the Chalet School
I had this idea for a sequel to my Whatever Happened To... drabble which follows Rosalie and Mary back to Scotland for the summer. It is entitled Rosalie or the Chalet School!

"Who has been invited tonight, Mary?" asked Rosalie as she helped to set the table.

"Well, Donald has invited a few colleagues from the hospital. I think he said Dr MacGregor would be here and so would Dr McDermott. Oh, and Dr Montague, Dr Turner and Dr Fisher. That's at least nine including their wives," Mary replied.

"Nine?" Rosalie asked having quickly done the mental arithmetic.

"Oh yes, sadly Dr McDermott is a widower. His wife died eight years ago in a car accident," said Mary mournfully.

"Oh, how terrible!" Rosalie exclaimed.

"I didn't know Jean very well but I heard she was a dear. It was all so sad, and so soon after they'd lost baby Angus..."

"Baby Angus? But Mary, this is awful. The poor man...." Rosalie began as she fought back tears.

Mary immediately put her arm around Rosalie. "How forgetful of me! I'm sorry Rosalie, you really didn't need to hear that after what you've been through."

"It's okay Mary, you don't need to worry," she replied, dabbing her eyes.

She looked at her cousin with a smile. "Do I look okay?"

"You look fine, dear. I think I hear the first arrivals," Mary said taking her hand before she left the room...

Just a short but belated update!

"Well, how did it go?" asked Mary as Rosalie closed the front door.

Rosalie smiled as she clipped back a piece of hair that had fallen over her eye. "It was lovely, Mary. I knew Scotland was a beautiful country but it was still breath taking to see such wonderful scenery."

"And Robert?" Mary asked casually.

Rosalie turned to face her cousin. "Dr McDermott is a wonderful man, I couldn't have asked for a better guide."

Mary tried her best to hide the glee inside. For too long now Rosalie had lived, worked and breathed the Chalet School. It was about time she found someone to settle down with!

"I'm seeing him again tomorrow," Rosalie anounced before hastily leaving the room as she felt her face blushing.
