The lady standing quietly by the window, gazing out onto the snow covered garden, sighed as she heard the chime from the old grandfather clock ring out. Times past would have seen her with her family, a gay party, singing, dancing, playing games. Now it was all quiet, no more merriment, or childish voices screaming with joy; just an empty space in her heart and an ache where once there was happiness and family love.

Pushing a strand of wispy grey hair out of her darkened eyes, Joey raised a glass and whispered “happy new year” to a silent world.

That was lovely Kat - I wish there was more, but if you're going to use the time to sort Hilda out then I can live with that!

A sequel would be wonderful..........
what on earth could Joey have done to have her entire long family desert her, even the ever-faithful Felicity ?

My mind boggles.............. can anyone hear the sound of bounding bunnies ?

So poignant, Kat. Crying or Very sad

Maybe a sequel would spoil the mood...... (Shall I run for cover now?)
