I seem to be on an Ailie theme at the moment... This is set before my other wee drabblet (Her three Daughters) but as i only wrote this one this morning (When Ailie woke me up at six am.. yes that would be SIX AM) i couldn't post it before... thanks for reading Ailie Russell looked down at the little bundle sitting in her arms. Blue eyes blinked back at her. Ailie had grown up with younger brothers and cousins. She knew how to hold it... to hold her even. But to imagine that this beautiful girl could possibly be her own was too much to believe. Ailie held the baby, captivated by her very prescence. Unable to put her back in her crib just in case it all turned out to be a dream. It was only after the baby- her baby- had been asleep for over an hour in her arms that Ailie managed to part herself from her child. She laid her in the crib, which stood against the wall of Ailies tiny bedroom in her little studio apartment. There and then Ailie vowed that her baby, her very own child would be raised absolutely to the best of her abilities. Wherever else she had failed, Ailie would not allow herself to fail her little girl. This would be her babies room she decided. Once again Ailie would sleep amongst the paintings and canvases in the main part of her studio. Well, if she could ever peel herself away from this piece of perfection... Ailie went and stood by the window, gazing out at the lights over London, and the stars twinkling down over the great city, looking out for everyone below. As Ailie looked out she closed her eyes in a silent prayer of thanks to her mother for convincing her that a child was what was missing in her life. She thanked her mother for convincing her to adopt this beautiful baby. She thanked her mother, and the stars she had always wished on, for giving her a daughter, for giving her Emma Margaret Russell. |
