request your company
at their marriage
on Saturday 30th July
at St Matthews Church
Gillian walked down the aisle on her father’s arm, dressed in ivory, her pretty face behind the antique veil. The bridesmaids’ rosepink tea-dresses looked just as pretty with Jacynth’ black hair as with Gay’s corngold curls.
Gillian and Rodney exchanged their vows and went to sign the register. Waiting for their return, Miss Wilson turned to Matron Rider and discovered that Gertrude did not know Rodney’s surname either.
They soon found out why.
The Vicar announced “I give you Mr and Mrs Scroggs!”

Thankyou Lyanne
#4: Author: Alison H, Location: ManchesterPosted: Fri Jul 29, 2005 8:02 am I always wondered why Miss Wilson bit Gillian's head off for going on about how she was glad Laurie had a nice surname ... I think Bill must have had a long lost boyfriend somewhere with a really awful name!
