I realised straight away what had happened, but felt that if I moved, he would really go. He had been unwell, and it wasn’t unexpected, but still a shock. He had seemed so well.
“Oh Felix!” I exclaimed at last, stroking his lovely white hair, and a sudden memory came to me.
‘Death is falling asleep to awaken with God’, that was what Madge had said. I went to find Jack, knowing Felix was safe at last.
