Ok I guess there have been so many of these that I was attacked by a flash of inspiration!

Jo sat beside the bed, eyes swimming, watching the figure lying there. This was an unusual situation for her. So often in the past it had been the other way around. Her lying ill in bed, watched over by this dear one who nursed her, and worried about her.

That had been many years ago now, time had loosed many bonds. Families had grown between them, and death had hurt them. But still, they loved each other dearly, and Jo didn’t want anyone else to be here at this time. Even Jack had stayed away, knowing her need for solitude.
