As with Madges side, another person's story on the same topic

Jack sat and wept. He wept for his wife, and her beloved sister. Why had this happened so often to them? He thought of Jem, Sybil, and Kester. All of whom had died before Madge. Of the children in his own family who had also gone before.
Then he thought of the others. Raising their own children in lands far away. Len had told him to contact her “if Mamma needs me”. He would make that phone call soon
Now he put his head in his hands and began to pray for the two people upstairs. May they be ready.

I'm glad that Jack can be such a tower of strength for everyone in their time of need. He knows when he is needed and when people need to be alone.
