#1: All night, all day... Author: XantheLocation: London/Cambridge PostPosted: Wed May 25, 2005 8:05 pm

All night, all day; angels watching over me, my Lord. All night, all day, angels watching over me…

There were butterflies in the garden today. Lots of them, yellow ones. My Robin was chasing them, trying to catch them, but they were much too fast for her. Poor little thing. Not that she really minded, and I prefer not to see things caught like that, but still. I still have this cough, it just won’t seem to shift at all. No matter though.

Now I lay me down to sleep, angels watching over me my Lord; I pray the Lord my soul to keep, angels watching over me.

Robin is a funny thing over her prayers. She knows them well, and says them nicely, but her own prayers – now those are something special. She prayed for me to not be so tired always, as well as the usual “Bless Mummy” that always makes my heart jump. I am so blessed.

If I die before I wake, angels watching over me my Lord, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, angels watching over me.

I don’t want to have to say goodbye. Not to all these earthly things I have come to know so well, but most of all, oh most of all, not to Ted, and not to my Robin. I want to stay here and look after them. I want to see my Robin grow and have her fly my nest. I want more sunrises, and more sunsets. I want more time, simply. But it is not to be. And what have I to fear in death?

If I live forever and a day, angels watching over me my Lord, I pray the Lord to guide my way, angels watching over me.

Maman, maman – que je veux maman…

Well they didn't understand why it was making me sad, but they haven't killed me for it so they can't mind that much.
