Vikki's New Job

#1: Vikki's New Job Author: RachelLocation: Plotting in my lair PostPosted: Tue Mar 29, 2005 7:26 pm

Vikki marched in the door of her new workplace with a determined look upon her face. She knew she was right for this job, and she knew she could turn the place around given half a chance. If only her boss would understand and not try to be too interfering.

"I'll do one day a week," Vikki told her new boss. "But I expect a full week's pay. Even when I'm not physically here I am sure to be thinking along some tangent or other connected to work, so I am entitled to recompense for that time and effort."

Viiki's boss stared.

"And also," continued Vikki, "I will have a company car thank you very much, with unlimited personal mileage."

Vikki's boss continued staring.

"And thirdly, I will be taking eight weeks paid holidays per quarter. I think that will be reasonable."

Vikki's boss looked faintly bemused.

"Finally, I reserve the right to hold unlimited CBB Gatherings here at your expense. You have to agree," said Vikki with a faintly patronising smile, "You have to agree that all I am suggesting is perfectly acceptable."

Vikki's boss made a faint murmur that could have been either agreement or not - the sounds were too faint to interpret.

"Well, that's that," said Vikki happily. "I'll start properly in November, but you can start paying me tomorrow. Thanks Ma'am" and with that Vikki left the grounds of Wondsor Castle.

Brilliant Rachel!

Go for it Vikki - you should also (having watched the documentary the other night) say you will not have anything to do with that huge table. Though that could be rather good for Gathers.

What's the betting her and her sister owned a complete set each of hardbacks with dustwrappers?

Along with complete sets of Oxenhams, Brazils, Fairlie-Bruce etc etc etc

Wonder if I wrote to her really nicely and told her how much I love her she would have a rootle around in the back of some cupboards and see if she can find any for me?

Is that a challenge?!?!?

Hmmm, will have to ponder the tone of the letter I shall send - and possibly will get one of the spawn to write it out to make it have an appealing childish hand.

"Dear Mrs Queen

"I think you and Mr Queen are really great. My mummy said you have been alive for a very long time and probably have all the books she can't get because the person what wrote them all died. Do you have any Chalet School stories I could have to give my mummy? She is a very nice mummy and makes nice dinners.

"Lots of love

"Rachel"

I am sure I could find a small Rainbow Guide to write it out if the Spawn write too neatly!
Obviously I would expect something in return.....

ROFL ROFL Love it please send the letter! *g*
Also I would love a job like that (and as someone who couldn't write a drabble to save her life, I would be perfectly happy to stand in for people and maybe do up to 3 days a week)!
