Con Maynard was lying on her bed when she fell off. Miss Annersley said,
“Why are you on the floor?” and Con looked up and said,
“Sorry Miss Annersley but I don’t know why.” Miss Annersley glared at her and said,
“I’m very annoyed with you Con, it is very bad to lie on the floor for no reason. Now you have to go and iron your dress.” Con nodded and went to the ironing board. But she was having a bad day and dropped the iron on the floor where it left a big burn hole. Miss Annersley said,
“Why are you burning the carpet?” and Con said,
“Sorry Miss Annersley I didn’t mean to.” Then Con’s sister who’s name was Margot came in and trod on the iron and her foot swelled up to an enormous size.
“Look at the accident,” said Miss Annersley. “Somebody call for the matey!” So Con called for the Matey and then she cried because she didn’t mean to drop the iron and burn Margot’s foot.
“Sorry Margot,” said Con when Miss Annersley was talking to Matey.
“Go away,” said Margot and Con walked away very sad.
