Soaring Free

“Let me go, my love. I’ll be free, as a bird, as the wind. Free to be me again, without pain.”

Broken-hearted grey eyes look down into hers beseechingly.

How to help her? She will be so bereft without me.

Her rich voice reassures. “My darling, I will still be very close, adding colour to your day and sparkle to your dreams.”

She smiles as the light fades; all that remains is the beloved voice bidding her stay.

The light is gone. She soars. Free! Unfettered!

Oh, Nell, if only you knew......

Then, another beloved voice bidding her welcome......
