As the last few bars of the wedding march fade away I look to my father, gently he pushes me forwards, towards my new life.

The marriage mass starts, questions asked and responses given, what I know to be a long ceremony appears over in seconds.

Gently my husband leans forwards, pushing my veil over my head and bestowing an awkward kiss on my lips.

I am told this should be th ehappiest day of my life yet I feel nothing. Is this it? Is this my future? No more myself, just Mrs Reg Entwistle from this point forwards?
