This may be my favourite programme on tv at the moment. Ok- so it has exactly the same plot every week, but there's something very comforting about that. And it has not just Hugh Laurie (ahh Hugh. Apparently the American producers didn't realise that he was English so good was his accent) but Robert Sean Leonard (or he who was in Dead Poets AND Much Ado About Nothing) AND JESSE SPENCER or Billy from Neighbours. What could be wrong with a cast like that? Dynamite.

Incidentally, my flat mate thinks that he's Hugh Laurie. He's now not that far off.

God, yes! I *love* House! Ah, the wonder of the House/Wilson snarkiness...

House?

What is this strange show that I haven't at all ever heard of or squeed over or driven everyone I know nuts by talking about

I read a thing today where RSL was being lovely about Hugh's American accent but then said that he missed his normal accent because (and I quote) "As we know, I’m straight, but yeah, it’s like, homina homina homina."
On which point I firmly agree!

Oh, I used to like House, but I can't get Fox on my TV very well because since New Mexico is mountainous and I don't have cable. Is British House on Fox? Does England have Fox?

However, in replace of House, I really really really LOVE Grey's Anatomy.

House is one of my favourite programmes! Unfortunately can't watch it for a few months because I'm stuck in Germany with no TV. It's probably the only thing that makes me want to watch channel 5!

In the UK, House is on at 9:00 and Grey's Anatomy is on immediately after. They're both ace, although I think I like House a little bit more. Difficult to compare them though, they're so different. Sandra Oh is one of my favourite actresses, she's brilliant.

I love it just for the bit the other week with Wilson pretending to be God over the speaker system. SO good.

Sandra Oh is also one of my favorite's. She is so expressive...even when she is wearing a surgical mask and all you can see is her eyes, she can emote so well! Not something many people can do...

My favorite on GA, though, is Dr. Mrs. Dr. Addison Montgomery Shepard. I am going to be her when I grow up. I just need to lose a little weight and dye my hair and pluck my eyebrows to very thin little lines. And get a squarer face. But otherwise, I will be her when I grow up.

House is indeed fab, as is Grey's Anatomy.

I loved the House episode this week - the one with Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn from Buffy). The practical jokes between House & Wilson were great!

I phoned home as it finished, to hear my sister explaining exactly what putting someone sleeping's hand in warm water does to them. Tee hee hee. I LOVE this show. Genius.

I love House too, I just love medical shows because I can feel intelligent when I understand bits of what's going on (I've done half a physiotherapy degree before dropping out  )

But I love Grey's anatomy more and am VERY anxiously awaiting its return to Australia. Suffering serious withdrawl of my Dr. Shepherd perve fest each week!

They didn't know?? I thought everyone knew that. Surely it's a rite of passage as a child to learn about things like that?

I love House too. Muchas muchas muchas.

i know i'm so depressed its finished now, and ER too... although i never saw the last two episodes of ER. I wanna know what happened lol.

May I just say how weird was the final episode of house???

It was especially strange when you only saw it from half way though! It finished here last week too. But luckily for me Shameless is on on Tuesdays too, so I've something to watch.

Shameless is brilliant though I haven't seen all of them.

I had woefulness over the ending of House (anyone know when it returns to our screens??) although the prospect of more Inspector Lynley (just started) cheered me up a bit. Until I watched it that is....what on earth was that all about? Did anyone else watch it. It was possible the most embarrassing piece of British television ever. So squirmful. The script sounded like it had been written by an illiterate teenager who had won a competition. Grr.

Some nice moments between Havers and Lynley though...

Sorry - gone a bit OT there!

I'm a House addict, too, usually miss the beginning 'cos I'm out, and rush in crying 'Have they had the second collapse yet?'. Who cares if it's the same plot every week ... except that this series has had an inordinate number of sexually transmitted diseases, practically every patient has been hiding some ghastly secret. Weird.

Author:  brie [ Thu Jul 27, 2006 6:01 pm ]
Post subject:

yes, there were rather a lot of them....

and so the plot is the same every week...it still rocks- i was (and still am) totally addicted to House, i cant wait for it to start again.. that and ER make up a staple diet of thursday night tv viewing... pity they are both finished though.. :x

House is totally addictive! It's also followed immediately by NCIS - which accounts for my Wednesday evenings! I love Abby, and every week I'm awed at her ability with that computer!

I've heard that House starts in the US in September and will be starting in the UK in Jan/Feb.

I've also heard that the Living TV channel on Sky has to show the second series of Grey's Anatomy first in the UK, so channel 5 aren't sure yet when they can show it but it will hopefully be early next year. Please feel free to correct me if this is wrong!

I'm considering getting Sky as I'm another Dr Shepherd fan! :D

Is it me or did the second series of Grey's Anatomy just stop half way through in the UK? I was on holiday when it happened, and got back to find it wasn't on TV any more. I miss my weekly dose of Dr Shepherd and Dr Burke followed by Dr House and Dr Chase...

...and speaking of House, I have just got round to watching the last episode of the series having taped it weeks ago. WOW. So good.

Squeeee for someone gave me the first series of House on DVD for Christmas and I spent all day New Year's Day and yesterday watching the whole thing. It's so good (and yes, I am ridiculously obsessed with Hugh Laurie so I would watch it anyway, but it's good for things other than the Hughness too) and my whole family are now obsessed. Woo! *bounces* I'm getting the second DVD set tomorrow (its not on Irish TV and I don't have cable.)

*is in a net cafe so must toddle off again but needed to squee*

Hurrah! Isn't it ace? After weeks and weeks of telling her how brilliant it is, my friend is now a House convert after she watched most of season one on a flight to Japan. Because of her chosen viewing on that flight, she is now also hooked on CSI (Vegas of course, not sucky Miami)! Yay! Now I just need to get her watching The West Wing...

I love the episode (I think it's in the first season, near the end) when House has to speak to a room of students and deals with three case studies. If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean, it's AMAZING, but if not and it's in season two, you have that to look forward to!

OT slightly, but squeeee ER is starting again tomorrow!!!

I think I have become addicted to House... This is all the fault of Kate (I wanted to see why there was so much joy & squee) and Liss&Katie (who got me into downlading TV).

I've watched the first two series of it - apart from episode 13 of series 2, as it was randomly in Spanish, which I do not speak - and the first half of Series 3 is downloading as I type.

It is genius. There is so much joy. Nothing coherent or intelligent to say, just quiet squee...

Only because I've been obsessed with House for years. And am happy to find like-minded folk on this board as well!

Mmm, Hugh Laurie. Hotness. Many of my friends don't get why I find him so hot. Clearly I have a thing for older men - as well as good taste in older books.

Yes, Hugh Laurie's too old for me too - but yummy! It's his eyes that I like - so piercing.

I have (ahem) acquired the first 9 episodes of series 4 and it's great, as ever. It starts again in the UK on Channel 5 on March 20th. It's paired with Grey's Anatomy again *squee* :D

Mmmm yes, Hugh is love. He's practically twice my age, but I still think he's ridiculously hot. In both British and American incarnations!

Becky - there've been three more episodes since! If you're an RSL fan, you'll LOVE them. Lots of Wilson to come. :) And they're good episodes too. One guest-stars Mira Sorvino (4x11 Frozen) and it's one of the best I've seen.

From further upthread: I also LOVE Three Stories - the one with House and the three case studies - absolutely fantastic writing.
