Not one that has been transcribed, as far as I know, although there is an info page from the New Chalet Club here.

Bess on Her Own in Canada has more plot than the other Geography Readers. Bess lives in the prairies of Saskatchewan. Her father has had an accident and needs help on the farm and Bess is despatched to find a cousin somewhere in British Columbia. She travels by train and boat, meeting only kindly well-wishers along the route. One of them happens to know her cousin's whereabouts, so she finds him and brings him back. On her way she sees quite a bit of western Canada and learns about fruit farming.

Has anyone at all read this?! is the first question from me :D If so, perhaps you could let the rest of us know how it goes and whether you recommend it. Thanks!

Has anyone read this?

They sound awful! However it would be a fairly impressive addition to the collection :P . One which is unlikely to happen I might add, going by the crazy prizes they seem to command on amazon etc  . Is there any photos of their djs / covers available, just out of curiousity..

I vaguely recall reading the Queensland one (which was dire!) but not this one.

Maybe Bess met up with Ted Grantley's long-lost brother ...

I've read it! Borrowed it from the FOCS library, along with the other geography readers. They're all pretty dire, and I suspect not that accurate either! Even though I think the idea was that they would give information about the country in question in an easy to digest form. That's why the plot's virtually non-existant, or at best a heavy-handed plot device.

Woo! That's one then! I was starting to think that its very existence should be called into question.
