Professor Trelawney died but Verity's father survived, as well as the doctor. Does anyone know the name of the doctor and what happened to him?

It was Dr O'Brien, but I don't think he was ever mentioned again. He was an expert on diseases of the Amazonian jungle or something Rolling Eyes

. He was wounded but was able to treat his own wounds and Verity's dad's wounds.

Yus, I seem to remember something about him being nearly blind, but the book is allll the way upstairs and I don't have the energy to go check!

I think he lost most of his vision, but Mrs Trelawney acted as a secretary for him?

Yes I can remember that Mary lou's mother was his secretary - he couldn't practice because of his damaged eyes but wrote about the Amazon experience I think.

I was thinking about him last night -> imagine a scene between him and Mr. Trelawney in their youth(ish) when they are working together and both wives are pregnant. And the ensuing conversation about how much they both love double-barrel names...
