I have an Uncle Jem!!!!! Only realised last night as mum was talking about him - I had always know he was 'Jem' and that he was my uncle (although we don't actually call him Uncle)-but I had never thought of it from the Chalet School point of view! His real name is Jeremy and he is only 12 years older than me. No, he is not a doctor - he works for DEFRA.

Has anyone else uncle, aunts or cousins with names that are Chaletian relatives?

I have an Aunty Madge! Admittedly only by marriage as she's married to my great uncle, but she still counts.

Hadn't thought of that.
I want to ask my sister to change her name now, but she already knows I'm insane so I don't think she will.

I used to have an Uncle Jack (until he died), but he was technically my great Uncle, plus it's not that uncommon a name.

I have a niece called Daisy, and we used to have a dog called Rufus (yes he was named after the CS Rufus, though was an Irish Setter not a Saint Bernard)

I have an Aunt Madge, she's actually a Great-Aunt and her real name is Harriet Madeline Cross but she calls herself Madge. (Major problem when she was in hospital as they knew her as Harriet Cross!)

I also have a brother David, and a cousin Phil and an uncle Geoff!

OK not CS but I have a Cousin Rachel as in My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Du Maurier. I haven't seen her for years, to the point where my brother refers to her as his ex-cousin.

Can you claim someone as your uncle if they died before you were born? If so, I had an uncle Dick, although it probably doesn't quite count because somehow, Dick was a short for Donald.

Extremely odd, mind you I can't say anything, Ben's Nanna is called Peggy, although apparently it's short for Patricia.

I had two sets of Auntie Margaret and Uncle Jim - so not quite right, but almost. Sadly, only two of the four are still alive - oh, and they were all greats - and all paternal! Smile

We have a cousin Fiona, but that's about it, I think Sad Oh, and our grandfather was Robin, but since it's the wrong gender, don't think we can really relate him to CS Robin... Wink

I just realized that I have a (brevet) Auntie Robin. Never thought of it that way before.

My Granny is called Molly, but actually Iris Mary. Never understood that. My mum and my auntie are both Hilary, my uncle is Richard but has never ever as far as I'm aware been called Dick, and my youngest cousin is Verity. And a person less like Verity-Anne Carey you couldn't hope to meet. Racking brains... nope, think that's it. I wonder how many of us have named pets/ toys/ children after CS things...
