Argh. Sorry but can someone explain to me the ages of the triplets in relation to the ages of Josette, Maeve, Mary-Lou et al? Oh and Sybil.

I'm on Ruey. Josette is Headgirl, at 17. Sybil, she says in the book when talking about Peggy's betrothal, is 18?! And the trips are 15. So Mary-Lou must be 18 - the same age as Sybil?

*very confused*

The dates do my head in. I was trying to work out what year Trials/Theodora was, and I decided on 1954 because the triplets were going to be 15 in the autumn ... but it was the year after Coming of Age, which would mean that the School was founded in 1932, so Joey (who was 12 going on 13 in School At) would've only been nearly 19 when the triplets were born in 1939, when in "fact" she was nearly 22 Rolling Eyes .

Josette was born just after Joey and Jack's wedding, I think, and was about a year older than the triplets. She was just under a year younger than Mary-Lou in 3 go, but it says somewhere else that Mary-Lou was nearly 3 years older than the triplets.

*Scratches head Rolling Eyes .*

Josette was born in the Autumn of 1938. Exile re-opens on Guernsey in the early summer of 1940, and Josette is a few months old then. I reckon she had to be on the way during the school's evacuation from Austria. I can't think how much earlier sbil was born - but I think it was before Jo went to India, which would make her at least 2 years older than Josette.

Sybil was born during the 'Lintons' book. That was during the term after Christmas in Jo's last year at school.

Josette starts out a year older than the triplets. Her age is fine until mid Three-Go, when she suddenly jumps from 8 to 10 mid book. By Joey Goes to the Oberland, she's two years older than the triplets. By Chalet Girl from Kenya, she's three years older than them (14 to their 11). By the time she's headgirl, she's 17 to their 15, and she stays with the two year age gap, except for the part where the triplets stay 17 for two years.

Her birthday is given, in various books, as August, September, October, November and December.

*g* does this make Josette the most EBD-ismed character?

Perhaps that's another thread! I shall start one

On the subject of Josette, are we ever told her husband's name?

No, we're never told the name of Josette's husband (or Sybil's either).
