Do we know what happened to her in the war?
In Exile she says she has to look after her mother and sister.
What happened to her in the end?
and do you know where it says this?

She stays Austria with her mother and sister Lieserl, as her sister is eighteen and unlikely to be able to leave.

In Lavender, it says that her mother died due to suffering under the Nazi regime, and she and her sister managed to escape to England after 'sundry thrilling adventures', losing all their possessions.

However, in a classic EBDism, in Richenda, she is going to go to Kufstein to see her mother and 'little Gretchen'.

Well it explains how Leiserl turned into "the little Gretchen", but still leaves the question of how the mother got miraculously ressurected.

Maybe the mother was taken into a concentration/labour camp (for anti-Nazi activities), and Frau Meiders just gave up and assumed she had died, and the best thing that she (and her sister) could do was just get out quickly before the same happened to them. Then after the war she was dicovered to have survived after all.

Well, Herr Mensch was also resurrected after he'd died, so clearly Tyrol is a hotbed of miracles! Come to think of it, doesn't Miss Durrant's husband also get resurrected after he died, so maybe it's Chalet-land in general that's a hotbed of miracles  !
