Bettany/Maynard/Russells - the third generation

Do we know the names and ages of any of the third generation ie. Dick/Madge's grandchildren....And for that matter which of the second generation married, when and to whom? I'm including Daisy and Primula as honorary Russell children in this query. I don't want to get halfway through CS 2005 and find myself contradicting EBD!

Are you counting "New Beginnings"? In that, Josette has a baby girl which she plans to call Hilary Anne Daphne. I think that would be changed, at least in order, if not completely. Daisy Rosomon nee Venables has Tony (born in Excitements), Peter (first mentioned in in Tirol) and Mary (born in Redheads). Peggy Bettany has a son, Alan (mentioned in the 18th Newsletter). Anyone else think of others?

Peggy was supposed to be expecting "hopefully a baby sister" at some point-possibly in Adrienne.Sybil married in Adrienne, Josette got engaged in Redheads, Bride married a lawyer possibly called Simon... and Primula got married in Reunion.

Bride's lawyer was Simon Carrington. Primula's hubby was Nick Garden. And Peggy's husband was Giles Winterton. Don't think we ever find out names for Sybil's and Josette's Aussies! Wink

Some basic math... The Manyard/Bettany/Russell/Venables clan + wards contains 30 offspring (11 Manyards, 6 Bettanys, 6 Russell, 2 Venables, 5 Manyard Wards) - Daphne Bettany is born in 1950 If each of them follows the family fecundity, and has six children each, you would expect 30*6 = 180 grandchildren, probably by about 1980 when Daphne would be 30, the triplets would be in their early 40s, and Daisy would be in her early 50s. Go ahead another 25 years, repeat, say there's an average of 4 children/family in the next generation (to account for the age spread), and there would be 30*6*4 = 720 great-grandchilddren. If 1/2 of these are girls, you'd have a good sized school (360) consisting entirely of Manyard/Bettany/Russell/Venables direct decendants. The ages would easily be spread out over the range of the school. There's a start for a drabble....

What a thought if they carried on like that they would soon take over the entire planet.

Well there is a extinction rate for families, so after a few generations you might be left with all Maynards, but the Bettanys have suffered!!!

maybe they already have.... p.s. i was thinking about this last night and i reckon one of the maynards next generation (doesnt that sound star trek-y?) will be named robin. just my opinion. hopefully no more margerets though! no problem with the name, but they`re running low on shortened versions!

Well, Caolyn DID write a drabble where an entire form were all members of the Maynard/Bettany/Russell clan...

sorry to interupt the discussion slightly but where are drabbles? a form made up of "the family" sounds great!

Drabbles can be found lurking in the Cookies and Drabbles section of the board, about 5 threads below this anything else. There are quite a lot of "live" drabbles - ones in which the authors are still writing/posting the story but there are also archived drabbles which are listed in one of the sticky threads at the top. The list is sorted by author. Go have fun - but make sure you have about, oh, 72 hours spare each week!

ok ok - i'll admit that im nosing about here because i did do the maths and decided that i would write a drabble turning the CS into a school exclusively for the descendent of the MBR clans....CS 2005 badly wanted to go that way but i wouldn't let it! however it involves a lot of family trees so although i've made a start it might be a while before it reaches the board. it has a title though, and a plot.....and a helluva lot of characters!

Yikes, that's a lot of names (it even had my proper spelling in Very Happy) Although a school full of Mary's reminds me of when I did a play called Once a Catholic, all the girls in the class were called Mary except one, who was Maria! JackieJ
